Our trip to Round Top was even more enjoyable because we fortunately had picked the Farmstead to stay at. It was located close enough to the heart of all the activity, but far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing while at The Cottage. Judy is an excellent hostess. I had to make a few calls to her before and after our stay, and she was very helpful each time. Accommodations were very clean and very comfortable, the location is lovely, sitting and conversing on the porch in the evening was so nice, and the assorted breakfast choices provided each morning were plentiful and delicious. The Farmstead is a great place to stay!!

We absolutely LOVED our weekend at The Farmstead. It was the perfect getaway from Houston for a quiet, relaxing weekend. Such an added perk to be able to bring our dog along for the trip as well! We stayed at the Outpost and it had everything that we needed. A Keurig, microwave, small fridge, and all of the glasses/serving utensils you might need. They recently built a pool and we were able to take advantage of that which was so nice with the Texas heat! Not a far trip at all from Round Top, but we spent most of our time at the property relaxing. Judy was also so accommodating, allowing for an early check-in and late check-out since it was available - thank you so much! We already can’t wait to come back!

For the past two summers my organization has rented out the entirety of Farmstead for our large group programming. We are in our 23rd year of operation and have stayed in a number of places in and around Round Top. Farmstead is the FAVORITE among our staff and participants! Farmstead is truly a fantastic place to host a large group event. From arranging the stay to enjoying the beautiful rooms and relaxing outdoor areas— it is 5 stars all around. We typically have 20 participants say on location but we could easily have doubled that with the number of beds and group gathering areas! We use the main event room for all our meals and meetings— plenty of space, fantastic kitchen, wall to wall windows for natural light, a wrap around porch! It is ideal. Working with the Farmstead team is also such a huge plus. We are a unique program and they easily worked with all our specific needs and have such a kind sense of humor and goodness that they really do feel like family now. If you are a large organization or you are looking to host a large family event— wedding, family reunion, retirement party, or a unique and relaxing company retreat or event— this is what you are looking for!

We stayed here last weekend and it was perfect for our girls trip. We stayed in the cottage and it had everything you would need. The beds were comfortable! It’s only about 4-5 min from the actual “downtown” of Round Top. It also looks like they are building a pool as well, which would be an amazing addition to the property!

Henkle Square
Henkle Square

One of Round Top’s most iconic historic squares is reborn as a shopping, dining, bar-happy place and gallery space. It’s an experience, really. Look around. Beyond the historic charm; 1800 something structures that were once home to immigrating Germans, the acreage that comprises Henkel Square Market is an awesome place to be. Pathways, gardens, bridges, places to sit and visit, tables on which to nosh or chat around, antique roses , a lovely fountain, and myriad flowering plantings all nestle around and under the Century Live Oaks that have appointed this site in natural beauty for forever, it seems. Relax. Breathe. Take it all in. Above all, enjoy.

Round Top Festival Institute
Round Top Festival Institute

The 1971 Festival, a ten-day session with ten piano students, included two concerts. During its first five years, the Festival-Institute leased facilities, but a master plan of development was soon established for programs and the future of the permanent campus. The first major facility, the Mary Moody Northen Pavilion, was acquired in 1973. It was the largest transportable stage in the world and was used for open-air concerts until 1983. Later, it was housed in the 1,000-seat Festival Concert Hall, on which construction began in 1981, until the permanent stage was completed in the Concert Hall in 1993. An abandoned school building and six acres of land North of Round Top were acquired in 1973 for a future campus to be named Festival Hill. The festival and its year-round operations moved to this site in the Bicentennial Summer of 1976.

Round Top Antique Shows
Round Top Antique Shows

Twice a year, in the spring and fall the small Texas town of Round Top swells from its population of 90 to a few hundred thousand during the Round Top Antiques Festival. The antiques show is the largest of its kind in the country, stretching over 11 miles on either side of Texas State Highway 237.Our show is the original show that started it all in 1968. Since then, nearly a hundred venues have joined along side ours to put on this uniquely Texas event. During the show, visitors drive down the rural highway of TX-237, to shop barns, tents, and hayfields for authentic antiques, fine art, home decor, and more.
